Mums n Bubs

Mums N Bubs group is aimed at babies from 0-12 months (or until mobile) as well as older siblings. We meet Thursday fortnights from 12.30pm at Gymea Bay Community and Recreation Centre (Avenel Rd off Gymea Bay Rd). Cost $2/family. It has pram access, a kitchen for us to make tea and coffee, toilets, plenty of parking and it also has a fully fenced outdoor area with a shade sail, so when the weather is nice we can lay out blankets for the bubs outside. It's a great way to meet other 'multiple' mums, discuss our experiences and share tips and ideas with each other.

Our newsletter, 'Multiple Messages' is produced monthly. This is the main forum for communication with our members and contains details of upcoming Social Events, Member's Stories, as well as other club news.

Coffee Mornings/Playground Visits

Regular coffee mornings and Playground visits are held throughout the Sutherland Shire and St George areas. Details of events can be found in our Monthly Newsletter.

Playday

Toddler & Preschool multiples, as well as siblings of multiples, have the opportunity to meet and play while Mum's (and a few Dad's) have a coffee and a chat. SSMBA Playday is held every second Thursday (except public holidays), from 10:00am to 1:00pm at the Venetia Street, Sylvania (Corner Holt Road). Cost is $3 per family per fortnight, as well as small plate or packet biscuits to share. Please Note: Playday is a nut free zone!

Social Events

Regular social events are organised for families with multiples of all ages, including Trivia Nights, Parents and Mother's Nights out, New Mum's Luncheons. Photos from some of these events can be found in our Photo Gallery.

Library

The library has a range of books, some multiple specific, and others general baby/ childhood topics such as pregnancy, breastfeeding and toilet training. These are available for members to borrow by contacting the librarian directly.

Expectant Parent Contact

For prospective parents we provide regular contact and support as well as organise Expectant Parents Nights on a regular basis. These sessions provide expectant couples with information on preparing for multiples as well as a chance to meet other couples also expecting multiples. Members & non-members are invited to attend.

Higher Order Multiples Liaison

For those with Triplets or more, we provide regular contact and support. The HOM Liaison also organises coffee mornings especially for HOM families. Of course, HOM families are also encouraged to participate in the general coffee mornings with all SSMBA members.

School Age Contact

We also have a Contact for School Age multiples that can help with any advice or support required when your babies go off to school.

Breastfeeding or Bottle Feeding Contacts

Need advice or wish to discuss the options we have Specialist members whom have been there and done that!

Hospital Visits

Where invited we are happy to visit mums of multiples and their babies in local hospitals.

A range of businesses provides discounts to members of the Club. Details are provided in our newsletter.

Club Merchandise

A range of items are available for sale at various social events and through our newsletter.

Classifieds

A classified section in our newsletter allows members to buy and sell their second hand baby goods.

Fundraising

Fundraising is an integral part of Southern Sydney Multiple Birth Association. We are a not for profit organisation that relies on fundraising to succeed. All our members are requested to assist where they can in any fundraising events organised. All proceeds from fundraising efforts are returned to the club and utilised for future club events.
