Expectant Parents Information Nights        Pregnant lady

The SSMBA Expectant Parent Information Nights are currently held 4-5 times a year in both the Macarthur and Sutherland Shire areas. These sessions provide expectant couples with information on preparing for multiples, as well as a chance to meet other couples also expecting. Members & non-members are invited to attend. The nights are coordinated by our Expectant Parents Contact and typically cover:

  • what you might expect during your pregnancy
  • information on the types of equipment you will need
  • tips and tricks for once your babies return home
  • services which are available to assist you
  • a question and answer session

Committee members also attend the night to help give an insight into their experiences, and our Father's Contact attends where possible to ensure the Dad's aren't forgotten! To find out when the next night will be held or to receive more information please click here.

Library

SSMBA has an extensive library, from which members may borrow, which contains books on topics such as mulitple pregnancies, breastfeeding multiples, sleep settling and coping with multiples in the first year. Once your babies arrive your time to read will be limited, so now is a good time to read about the wondeful world of multiples!

Parents 'n' Bubs Playgroup

Parents 'n' Bubs playgroup is for parents and carers of multiple birth children, aged from 0-12 months. Thanks to funding from the Tradies program, Parents 'n' Bubs continues to be supported. Sessions are facilitated by Catherine Conyngham, a Mothercraft nurse from Step by Step Progressive Parenting. Catherine provides relevant resources and support about feeding, settling, routines and other issues, and facilitates discussion. She is present to answer all your questions (both pre and post multiple birth) and offer support in a welcoming and safe environment. PNB is held fortnightly on Wednesdays however due to circumstances beyond our control, we have had to put the playgroup on hold while we look for a new venue. We hope to have a new venue sorted within the next few weeks. If you would like more information please click here.

Park Playdates

Various park playdates are held throughout Southern Sydney each month and all details of park play dates are listed in our monthly newsletter. Having fortnightly parent groups and play dates mean that there is often one or two get togethers per week for SSMBA members to attend. Members are welcome to attend as many play dates as they wish, as soon as they are ready and siblings are encouraged to come along as well. This also includes attending before your multiples are born if you are currently expecting.
